Coillte Panel Products and wood for good join forces to develop OSB & MDF Online Learning modules
Two important new additions to wood for good's RIBA CPD accredited Online Learning resource have been launched this month. They are Module 16: OSB (Oriented Strand Board) and Module 17: MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard). Both courses have been sponsored by wood for good member, Coillte Panel Products, who recognised the need for generic timber information and realised the potential of Online Learning to reach the target audiences.
Charles Trevor, Managing Director of wood for good comments:
"We are delighted that Coillte Panel Products has decided to sponsor and work with us to develop these two new courses. The inclusion of MDF & OSB in the Online Learning resource is a step toward the industry being able to provide a 'one stop shop' for timber information for architects and specifiers. As a member of RIBA's CPD Providers Network, wood for good is ideally placed to do this."
The Coillte and Online Learning development teams worked closely together to ensure that the information provided is accurate as well as giving examples of the practical and aesthetic benefits of OSB and MDF.
Geoff Rhodes, Coillte Panel Product's Marketing and Business Development Director said:
"Coillte Panel Products is committed to supporting best practice from sustainable forestry right through to greater energy efficiency. Specifying the right product for the right job is important for all wood products - not just OSB and MDF. Wood for good's Online Learning resource is vital to ensure the right information reaches the right people, and our sponsorship of this project forms part of the technical support we provide for all our products."
Work has also started on two new modules. They are 'Wood Windows and Doors' which is being developed in co-operation with the British Woodworking Federation and Timber Frame which is being developed with the UK Timber Frame Association. The two new modules will be launched in the summer and autumn respectively.
